AIA 2014 Convention in Chicago, Illinois

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2014 Convention will be held at the McCormick Place Convention Center, Chicago, Illinois June 26-28.  Click on this link for more information about the 2014 AIA convention.

Getting There

Airports:

Two major airports service the Chicago area O’Hare International (ORD) and Midway International (MDW).

Bus:

From O’Hare International Airport: The CTA “Blue” line provides service to and from the airport. Take the train to either the Monroe or Jackson Street Stations. Walk several blocks East to Michigan Avenue. Locate the nearest CTA Bus stop and take the #3 south bound bus to McCormick Place.

From Midway Airport: The CTA “Orange” line provides service to and from the airport. Take the train to the Roosevelt Street Station. Walk East to Michigan Avenue. Locate the nearest CTA Bus stop and take the #3 south bound bus to McCormick Place.

Taxi: There are many taxi companies in Chicago.  Fares are based on traffic conditions, an average fare from:

O’Hare to downtown Chicago is $30 – $40

Midway to downtown Chicago is $28 – $30

Hotel Shuttle – Check with your hotel to see if the provide a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.

Rental Cars: Prices vary based upon vehicle and days of use.

O’Hare: Each rental car company offers free shuttle service. The shuttles pick up at the arrival curb front located at the lower level outside of baggage claim.

Midway: Passengers can access the rental car shuttle pick up at the arrival curb front which is the lower level door 3 outside of baggage claim.

Car Service – There are many sedan and limo companies that provide service in Chicago.

An estimated fare from the airport to downtown is:

O’Hare to downtown Chicago is $125 – $150 (all inclusive)

Midway to downtown Chicago is $140 – $165 (all inclusive)
